Peer Mediation Program

It is inevitable that students get into fights, arguments or disagreements and that it affects school life in some way. But it isn't inevitable that these conflicts have to be unproductive or lead to unproductive consequences, like time away from teaching and increased stress and tension.

Peer mediation has been proven to reduce office referrals, after-school fights and suspensions, and increase the time in which students are available for learning. Life Trax ’s Peer Mediation Program empowers youth to mediate peer disputes such as rumors, name calling, minor harassment and relationship fights that can often get in the way of classroom learning and school safety. At a time when adults look to youth to solve their own problems without constant adult supervision, our peer mediation program is an effective way for schools to decrease violence and increase student empowerment and community service.
